about
'Sinner' is kind of my nod to Nashville and country music. A talented artist friend of mine, Michaela Anne, was featured on a blog with a few other great, female Americana and country singer-songwriters and it inspired me to write a classic country song in the pop vein. It’s that theme of the 'my man did me wrong and I'm pissed and ready to roll some heads' sort of thing, but in my own way.
lyrics
Mama always told me leave your light on
You can't see straight in the dark
Fumbling around till you find out
You're trippin' over your own heart
It all happened so quickly I gotta replay in slow motion
The way that you hit me felt like a thousand oceans when you...
Crossed the night with her
Crossed the lines and bounds
You're bound to stay with her
Since I found...
Found you out with her
Found you put me down
Still you say you're my sinner
Realize we're not much more than strangers
Strangers who touch in the dark
Thinking that we're close cause we made love
When love's not close to where we are
Where did all the seconds, minutes and hours go that get
Wasted on useless heartbreaks when you...
Crossed the night with her
Crossed the lines and bounds
You're bound to stay with her
Since I found...
Found you out with her
Found you put me down
Still you say you're my sinner
Tell em' all you're lonely
Well you know, you're not the only one
Still pretending I'm your one and only
But playing pretend's never quite as fun
Crossed the night with her
Crossed the lines and bounds
You're bound to stay with her
Since I found...
Found you out with her
Found you put me down
Still you say you're my sinner
